OUR
APPrOACH

Developing good quality fabrics starts at the loom, where the character of the fabric comes to life with each decision of what materials to use, the thickness and strength of the yarn, the density of the weave.

As a brand that values innovation, we’re always looking for new materials and blends to create unique fabrics that elevate our designs, with the added benefit of being more sustainable and kind to our planet.
The thickness of the yarn determines the strength and fluidity of the fabric. Depending on the base material, we opt for finer yarns to create beautiful drapes and add a touch of luxury, or thicker yarns to add strength and structure.

Even with the same yarn strength, the weave can drastically alter the appearance and feel of the fabric. From percale to sateen, the interlocking of the warp and weft yarns create an infinite number of possibilities.

RAW MATERIALS

We place great emphasis on the quality of our fabrics, treating the fabric as part and parcel of our designs. We are constantly learning and experimenting with new materials to bring fresh and timeless designs, whilst challenging ourselves on how we can be more responsible to the environment.

We work directly with our suppliers to create new fabric blends, optimizing the blends to capitalize on the unique qualities of each material. Uncompromising on quality, we always select the highest quality even at the raw materials stage to ensure our spinners deliver the highest quality yarns.
COTTON
Cotton is one of the most prevalent fibers in the textiles industry, and the longer the length of the fiber, the finer and higher thread count can be spun.
LYOCELL
Lyocell is a cellulose fiber derived from eucalyptus trees, and it is a sustainable alternative to cotton due to its closed loop production process with high resource efficiency and low environmental impact.
LINEN
Linen is derived from the flax plant, and the production process of making linen fibers creates other byproducts that utilize the whole plant, such as flax seeds and oil. This sustainable fiber is stronger and more durable than cotton, and because the fiber is hollow, it is cooling and the perfect fabric for warm summers!

FABRIC

Having worked closely for years with a strong network of weaving mills, LOOMINATE is constantly innovating and designing new fabrics, keeping a pulse on developing trends and technologies to discover new materials and fabrics.

Every decision from the base material, to the yarn thickness, to the weaving pattern comes together to bring the fabric to life. The design of the fabric structure—the interaction of the weft and warp yarns—can determine the character of the fabric, where altering one thread of yarn can change the handfeel, structure and fluidity of the fabric.

Different materials have different characteristics, as well as different reactions to the finishings we offer. We go through multiple trials to experiment and test the fabric’s quality and durability, leveraging our decades of experience to create a consistent high-performance product.

DESIGN SERVICES

Echoing our sustainability efforts, LOOMINATE aims to develop fabrics that are multifunctional, where the fabric can be utilized in creating different apparel products, and also in creating fashion accessories such as belts, scarves, and bags. Fully utilizing the fabric and minimizing wastage, this is a tangible representation of our conservation efforts.

Depending on our clients’ needs and directions, we can build a collection based on their vision and brand image. We can source new materials and fabrics to complement the collection’s themes, adding functionality and dimensions to the collection.

PRINCIPLED
PRODUCTION

Within our own factory, we have developed rigorous and demanding standards to ensure our products meet international certified standards, as well as our clients’ own standards. Our Quality Assurance and Quality Control departments oversee the product quality throughout the entire supply chain, from raw materials to trims to end products. Our industrial engineers continually review our production process to improve efficiency and reduce waste, to fortify the safe working conditions in our factories.
Our factory in China has reduced oil, coal and carbon emissions footprint by 7-8% every year, and a 10-14% annual reduction in electricity and water consumption since 2017.
SUSTAINABILITY
